51episode Anti-Aging(3)Handstand ❷ SK8-60
I never thought that something as simple as the handstand (when I was in my 50s, I could be using a wall and do the handstand without thinking, and I could even do up and down push-ups a few times In that state.) would make me afraid in my 60s. I started practicing skateboard tricks when I was 60 years old, and I have so much confidence in my physical strength that it doesn't matter my age, and I can jump and bounce around, but I feel like practicing skateboarding tricks doesn't build up upper body strength. Perhaps it was these anxieties I was feeling that I wanted to investigate and then take action. Taking into consideration the concerns I mentioned last time about people with certain constitutions or health conditions that may be at risk, I decided to try it at my own risk, shortening the number of seconds I hold the handstand and while watching on my physical condition.
I didn't feel anything particularly strange when I put my hands down, but it only made an instant for me to push myself up and get my feet on the wall. My handstand had no time to consider shortening the number of seconds. I immediately fell off my feet. I felt a heavy weight on my lower back, spine, arms and shoulders, and especially on my collarbone. It turns out my fears, which had made me overly nervous, were realized. I had severe muscle weakness from my neck to my shoulders. I can't remember the last time I did a handstand, but I still can't believe how much muscle strength declines after the age of 60 when it's not used. I was confronted with a harsh reality. I have never felt pain all over my body from the handstand, so this is a frightening deterioration. This is an incident that makes me fearful of aging after the age of 60.
For me, it started with improving the wrinkles and sagging caused by gravity, but the problem then developed into a significant decline in the basic physical strength of my upper body. If more time had passed, my condition might have become so severe that I would not be able to support myself with my arms. My goal is to maintain my current ability to do the handstand while at the very least regaining the physical strength to be able to do the stable handstand using a wall, thereby achieving anti-aging.
